Listen to the Voices of Families with Autism and Raise Global Awareness of Autism
Xue Kuiyang
Vice President
Beijing Guangming Charity Foundation
Speech
Autism, a special neurodevelopmental disorder, is affecting approximately 1% of the global population. The "Star Project" psychological interview program for 100 families with autism, launched by the Beijing Guangming Charity Foundation, aims to provide a voice for families with autism to express their opinions and challenges.
Autistic families face many difficulties in rehabilitation, education, employment, and other aspects. The social support system is not yet perfect, there is a shortage of professional talents, and discrimination and prejudice still exist. We hope to raise more people's attention and care for the autism community through interviews, eliminate prejudice, and create a more inclusive and harmonious social environment for them.
We believe that every attention is a force. We look forward to working together with global partners to promote the development of autism and provide more help and support for families with autism.
